Winston "Bill" Junior Darnell

Winston “Bill” Junior Darnell, age 70 of Lansing, died Sunday, January 10, 2021 at Ashe Memorial Hospital.  Mr. Darnell was born July 7, 1950 in Ashe County.  He was preceded in death by his mother, Wincie Darnell.  Bill was always there to help anyone in need.  He enjoyed working on and painting cars, playing poker and spending time with his dog, Molly.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, January 15, 2021 at Badger Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Jim Greer.  Burial will follow in the Eller Cemetery. Mr. Darnell will lie in state from 10:00 – 11:00 am prior to the service.  Please wear a mask and practice social distancing if attending.

Mr. Darnell is survived by his daughter, Kim Johnson and husband Rodney of Lansing, grandchildren, Noah and Sara Johnson, his fiancé, Linda Turnmire and her children, Quincy Treadway and wife Katrina of Lansing, Malcolm Treadway and wife Jennifer of Jefferson and Jennifer Cummings of Jefferson, her grandchildren, Michael, Cody, Kristen and Angel Treadway, Tiffany Miller, Santana and Christian Cummings and his aunt, Pauline Darnell. Several cousins also survive.
