Rev. Earl Woods

Rev. Earl Woods age 82, of Creston, NC died Thursday, November 6, 2014 at his home. Rev. Woods was born February 11, 1932 in Ashe County to Henry and Ida Riley Woods. Rev. Woods was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Doris Woods, brother, John Woods, sister, Judy Blevins and an infant sister. Rev. Woods enjoyed going to church and working for the Lord. He was a minister for over 50 years.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 1:00 pm at Badger Funeral Home Chapel by Brother Jason Nunley. Burial will follow in Calhoun Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm Sunday at Badger Funeral Home.

Rev. Woods is survived by:

3 children, Terry (Teresa) Woods of Creston, Patsy (Tommy) Fink of Creston & Jerry Lynn Woods (Frankie White) of Butler, TN, 4 brothers, Rev. Frank Woods and Rev. James Woods both of Mt. City, TN, Charles Woods of Forest Hill, MD and Leroy "Jack" Woods of Elkton, MD, 4 sisters, Elsie Barr, Willa Dean Calhoun and Maude Calhoun all of West Jefferson and Mary Nell Blevins of Grassy Creek, 4 grandchildren, Ronnie & Tony Nichols, Courtney & Kristie Woods & Ashley Severt, 10 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
